The OCR Approach to Drug and Alcohol Addiction Treatment
Our approach to drug and alcohol recovery is best described in two simple words – Personal and Comprehensive. Addiction is a three-fold disease in the sense that it affects the body, mind, and spirit; an allergy in the body, an obsession of the mind, coupled with a spiritual malady. It is only logical that the treatment of addiction would also be three-fold. This is exactly why the Orange County Recovery drug and alcohol addiction treatment philosophy includes the treatment of the body, the mind, and the soul.
Our tried and tested approach, which has helped hundreds of former clients overcome addiction and live a life of sobriety, is personalized to meet the individual’s needs. It equips the client with all the important physical, mental, and emotional resources vital for recovery. It helps them address the destructive habits that lead to addiction, and assists them in making important, albeit difficult life changes.
Our approach is to help you in the process as well! We at Orange County Recovery know how difficult addition is for the entire family. It is understood that the family needs help and healing from the hurt and damage caused by the addiction along with the addict. Family services are an integral part of the Orange County Recovery (OCR) drug and alcohol rehab program.
The OCR Alcohol and Drug Addiction Treatment Program
Orange County Recovery sees addiction as a disease and treats it as such. Our treatment programs are based on a medical model, and are overseen by licensed and certified specialists.
Addiction treatment is not a quick and easy process. It requires that the individual address some life long distructive habits that, in most cases, requires uncomfortable and sometimes painful life changes. Many who are addicted are not even aware that they have an actual disease, nor do they have the tools they need in order to recovery. Orange County Recovery has been working with those who are addicted since 2002, helping hundreds of people to recover from drug and alcohol addiction. Orange County Recovery has a tried and true, comprehensive drug and alcohol rehab program that equipts clients with important mental, physical, and emotional resources for their recovery. Rather than relying on just one approach, Orange County Recovery crafts a personalized addiction treatment program to meet the unique needs of the individual.
At Orange County Recovery , we utilize a medical model in our drug and alcohol rehab because as a disease, addiction alters a person’s brain chemistry, it causes intense damage to internal organs, and it suppresses the positive spirit of a person. Our medical model addresses all three. Our certified medical practitioners use their knowledge, training, and experience to implement safe, healthy detoxification, treatment, and rehab programs based on your loved one’s needs. Instead of settling for symptom relief, Orange County Recovery strives for true healing and acheive success by addressing the root causes of the drug or alcohol addiction.
The program includes educational lectures, individual counseling, group sessions, individual and group therapy, psychological evaluation, medication management, life skills training, regularly scheduled laboratory testing, and personalized assignments that restructure the cognition of the addict. Their views on addiction, relationships, and lifestyle choices change and so does their life!
Key elements of Orange County Recovery’s drug and alcohol addiction treatment program includes:
- Private counseling – Upon admission, the client is assigned a certified addiction treatment counselor, who meets with them on a daily basis and guides them through the process of recovery.
- Daily lectures and educational sessions – Conducted by counselors, therapists, and qualified agency staff. The goal of these classes is to equip the client with essential knowledge about the disease of addiction, the factors that complicate addiction, important life skills, as well as recovery techniques to help ensure long-term sobriety.
- Group counseling – regular group counseling sessions are held where the client can meet with, inspire, or take inspiration from other members in the group.
- Process group meetings – help the client to process uncomfortable feelings as they struggle to understand and accept the challenges and joys of the recovery process.
- Psychological evaluations, relapse prevention, education, as well as fitness and nutrition education are included.
Our center contracts the best-in-class detox programs from Los Angeles County and Orange County in Southern California that are overseen by experienced nurses and physicians who implement a safe, healthy detoxification plan based on each client’s drug of choice and intoxication levels. Our treatment program does not settle for symptom relief; we want to address root causes of the disease so that true healing can occur.
Twelve Step Program
In our experience, there is no program of recovery that has brought freedom to more alcoholics and drug addicts than the twelve-step program. It’s effectiveness is proven by the millions of people who are living clean and sober because of the transformation they have found through working the steps. As clients complete assignments related to each step, it promotes cognitive restructuring, actually changing the way they think about addiction, relationships, and lifestyle choices.
Professional Recovery Counseling
Clients work through this curriculum in the context of individual counseling, group counseling, and educational lectures. Upon admission, clients are paired with a certified counselor with whom they meet on a regular basis during the course of their addiction treatment. Additionally, clients meet daily with a process group and group counselor to process the challenges, joys, and insights of the recovery process.
Education through daily lectures and processing groups augment the individual and group counseling. Counselors and qualified agency staff conduct classes that equip clients with essential knowledge about the disease of addiction, complicating factors to addiction, and important life skills and recovery techniques.
Drug and alcohol addiction do not just affect the one using the drugs; it affects the person’s entire family. Family members are often in need of healing from the hurt and damage that has been done, and in many cases they can be part of a system that perpetuates the disease – even when they do not want to be. For that reason, Orange County Recovery offers family services, which include lectures and family counseling so that invested family members can experience healing along with the client and can become an integral part of his or her drug and alcohol rehab program.
Non-residential Addiction Treatment
For some clients, residential treatment is not an option or the best choice for their journey. Clients can experience many of the services provided in residential treatment through our outpatient treatment program. Our staff can and will assist clients in assuring their participation in the correct level of care that best addresses their needs.
We are eager to help you find healing and hope, and our proven approach has worked for hundreds who have gone before you. To read some stories of Orange County recovery’s clients who have worked the program and are living clean and sober, visit our Testimonials page.
